June 23, 2020 By blog Comments Off

How can I tell what is and isn’t acceptable in my recycling container?

Car Rental Congo the oldest car hire company in Central Africa has extended its services to open up the waste management services within Goma, Beni, Kinshasa, Butembo, Uvira, Kisangani with sold service delivery of dumper trucks, provision of Bins for proper waste management in Democratic republic of congo.

Waste Management

We want to make recycling less complicated.

Follow these three rules to make recycling simple:

  1. Recycle empty bottles, cans, paper, and cardboard
  2. Keep foods and liquids out of the recycling
  3. Keep plastic bags out of the recycling bin. No bagged recyclables.

And remember, you should never place an item in your recycling container if you’re not sure it’s an approved recyclable. When in doubt – throw it out. Visit Recycle Right to view how-to videos and downloadable guidelines.

Recycling

Waste is not segregated in DR congo when it is collected, and vast amounts of plastic litter clog public spaces as well as water bodies.

Congo’s segregation and recycling system operate through an informal chain of workers—from ragpickers who sort through waste to dealers who sell the plastic to plants.

About 60 percent of plastic waste in Congo is not recycled, according to various estimates. Just nine percent of all plastic waste ever produced globally has been recycled.

Four Men Arrested for Killing Silverback Gorilla in Bwindi

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is part of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and is situated along with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) border next to the Virunga National Park and on the edge of the Albertine Rift. Composed of 321 square kilometers (124 sq mi) of both montane and lowland forest, it is accessible only on foot.

The park is a UNESCO world heritage site near Uganda’s border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, is a 120 square mile patch of dense tropical forest that is home to primates, elephants, antelopes, and other wildlife.

The hunting and the killing of the gorillas were last reported in 2011 June, according to the International Gorilla Conservation Programme. But there are signs that poaching in gorilla parks has increased in recent months, as tourism has fallen because of the coronavirus pandemic, see the best places to visit after Covid19 and all these places can be accessed on Self Drive safari in Uganda or Guided Uganda Safari

According to the press release at the twitter handle of Uganda Wildlife Authority, it arrested four men who have been detained in connection with the killing of a 25-year-old male gorilla that was hugely popular with tourists.

The arrests followed UWA’s investigation of Rafiki’s death “after a post-mortem report revealed that the Silverback sustained an injury by a sharp device/object that penetrated its left upper part of the abdomen up to the internal organs.” Rangers found Rafiki’s body on June 2, a day after he was reported missing in the park.

The Silverback gorilla, named Rafiki, was killed in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after going missing on June 1. His body was found the next day.

Byamukama Felix confessed to killing the gorilla in self-defense, the authority said. Mr. Felix said that he had gone hunting in the park with another poacher, Bampabenda Evarist when they came across the Nkuringo gorillas.

Rafiki charged, and Mr. Felix speared him, the authority said. Mr. Felix, who is from the western Ugandan village of Murole, was found with bush pig meat as well as several hunting devices, including a spear, rope snares, wire snares, and a hunting bell for a dog collar. Rafiki was head of a 17-member gorilla group called Nkuringo Sector which sector is considered as the hardest sector when it comes to gorilla trekking in Uganda.

Mr. Felix said that he had shared some of the bushpig meat with two other poachers, Museveni Valence and Mubangizi Yonasi, who were arrested on June 7, the authority said.

In a statement on Friday, the authority said that the four men were being held at a police station and were awaiting trial before a court of Competent Jurisdiction.

Effective Ways to Use the Overdrive

The Effective Ways to Use the Overdrive in Automatic Car

Overdrive in an automatic car has come a long way since the improvement of the engine mechanism and highway transportation. The smooth roads and powerful cars encourage modern people to speed up on the road. But, auto manufacturers had to solve the challenge of creating a gearing that can adapt to higher speeds without frictional loss to the rear. The gearing also has to maintain lower RPM and put less strain on the engine. It’s when the overdrive gear came into the equation.

What is an Overdrive Gear?

Overdrive or OD is the highest gear in the transmission in an automatic car. It brings the RPM of the engine down at given road speed to facilitate better speed and fuel efficiency. It also helps your car to provide the best performance in higher-speed cruising.

How to Use Overdrive in Automatic Car More Effectively?

Usually, cars having this gear have a dedicated overdrive button. Switching it on means locking it out, not to engage it. When you push it, the transmission goes through all the gears and then limits the functioning within the rest of the gears. It means that there will be a downshift from the highest gear when you press the O/D button during driving at high speeds.

You should leave the OD switch on all the time for regular driving. Your car will automatically shift into top gear if necessary, regardless of your selection. However, there are some conditions when pressing the overdrive gear can improve the car’s performance.

Social Responsibility in COVID 19 Pandemic

The World Health Organization declared Corona Virus a Global Pandemic in early March of this year. The Ministry of Public Health in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has reported the country’s first case of COVID-19. Health authorities said tests found that a Congolese national, who had recently returned to Kinshasa from his residence in France had tested positive for the virus. The silver lining is that a fraction of the people with the reported cases has since recovered while the rest are in stable condition.

Company Support to Local Communities during COVID 19 pandemics has been at the helm of 2020 ever since the pandemic was declared to be existing in democratic republic of congo as the company started to support the local communities that have been deriving their income from Tourism industry including the local Porters, Guides in Various national parks that is Virunga National Park & kahuzi Biega National park that is known to be the home for the primates. All Congo primate Safaris either lead you to the eastern democratic republic of congo or Kinshasa for Bonobos trekking.

The effects of COVID-19 have provided an unprecedented stress test of corporate social responsibility. In every crisis, there are risks and opportunities and this is what we see in our research thus far. Week by week, a rising number of companies have faced exposure to stakeholder criticism over their social practices, and simultaneously, companies across all sectors have taken the opportunity to further embed themselves into the social fabric of the communities where they operate.

Car Rental Congo extended a hand to the few locals known by the company operations manager Moses in Goma to render assistance in offering some food, but we are happy that the government took all the necessary measures to reduce the spread of the disease.

The Company continues to encourage people can take action to prevent the disease through simple, day-to-day measures to have COVID 19 free measure society.

Self-Drive Vs Guided Safari Tour

January 25, 2017 By blog Comments Off

I can show you my experience in guided and self-drive safaris. That’s my experience and it could be different depending on the parks, the weather and other conditions. My experience is limited to Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, which are on the East side of Africa, and Senegal, which is at the north; and there are not too many game parks. I have in mind a travel to Namibia-Botswana; according my research (asking people that have made safaris in east Africa and south Africa), all African parks are similar, except Kenyan ones (which are very crowded).
